Chapter 638: New World
West Kingdom, West Royal City, the royal castle’s throne room.
"Hahaha, my son, your rivalry with that brat of the South Kingdom is still going? They sure are a tough bunch, which is why all you have to do is punch them harder!"
The King of the West Kingdom said with an iron fist and a grin on his face.
With wry smiles on their faces, the royal guards, servants, and the many family members of the West family just chuckled to themselves.
"I’ll do my best to honor the name of West."
Kiernan said with his arms behind his back.
"Good! You’ll be ruling this kingdom soon, so you must get stronger and tougher so the other kingdoms don’t start bullying us!"
The King said.
"I will."
Kiernan bowed.
"Now... Let’s have a feast!"
The King clapped his hands, and everyone retreated over to the dining hall with delicious food gathered on the long tables.
After enjoying the food to the fullest, Kiernan excused himself and retreated back to his chambers, where he took a quick dip in the bath.
He then went to the terrace, where he sat down to enjoy the view of the West Royal City and all of its surrounding areas.
’...It has already been over half a year since I have been stuck here, and I still haven’t found a way to leave this place.
’I genuinely hope that time moves differently in here compared to the outside world. If I’ve been really gone for half a year, everyone must be thinking that I am dead.’
Kiernan thought with a deep sigh.
Six months ago, after graduating, he took the Martial King test, as he thought it was a good time to do so.
A gate appeared in front of him. Made of rocks. It had engravings of a strange language that he didn’t recognize.
He stepped through the gate and arrived in this strange world of Martial Kings. Everyone here were Martial Kings.
It didn’t matter what age one was.
In this realm, he was actually the crown prince of the West Kingdom, one of the four mighty kingdoms of the world.
In this world, his name was Kiernan West.
He had been looking for a way to leave this place ever since he happened to come here but hadn’t found a single way to leave.
It was starting to annoy him, and he had started to regret ever taking this test, and all he could hope was that this world worked in a different time cycle than the outside world.
If he had really been gone for all those six months, he didn’t know what he would do.
In the Martial King Realm, his system didn’t work. The interface never showed here, and he also couldn’t talk to the system.
However.
One thing came with the system.
"Yip! Yip!"
In that moment, Fen jumped onto the table and snuggled up to his face with a happy bark.
With a smile, Kiernan scratched Fen behind his ear.
He didn’t actually bring him to the Martial King test with him, but when he came here, Fen was with him here.
"Brother!"
A chirpy-sounding girl blasted through his door, came to the terrace, and took Fen into a bone-crushing hug.
"Fen, you beautiful little thing!"
With a sweet smile, the little girl, whose name was Indi West, hugged Fen tightly and spun him around like a toy.
Fen’s eyes were spinning.
"Don’t hug him too tightly."
Kiernan said with a wry smile.
"He is Magical Beast, he can take it!"
Indi said, and then started kissing adorable Fen in the face.
In this world, Magical Beasts were common, and so, he’d been able to strengthen Fen as well. He was now a Martial Master.
Thus, Fen had also grown in size. He was the size of a full-blown wolf now. Despite his size, Fen was still as cute and lovable as ever.
"Right, are the rumors true? Are they really planning to arrange a marriage between you and the princess of the South Kingdom?"
Indi asked.
"...It appears so. Arranged marriages are normal between four kingdoms to keep relationships, even though we’re pretty much always at odds with each other."
Kiernan said.
However, he didn’t plan to stay in the Martial King Realm all the way until his marriage with this young woman he barely knew.
He already had a certain someone waiting back in the outside world, and he needed to find a way back to her soon.
"I don’t like South people. They think they are better than us with their clean streets, highly advanced architecture, and clothing. We, the West, are way better than them!"
Indi said smugly.
"They are the best in the world when it comes to cleanliness, health, architecture, and clothing. Every kingdom has things they are best at.
"East Kingdom is best at combat, military, strategy, and unity.
"North Kingdom is best at farming, agriculture, and hunting.
"We, the West Kingdom, are best at innovation, trade, and transportation."
Kiernan said.
"...You talk like father. All political, and stuff."
Indi said with a pout.
"Haha, I guess he has been rubbing off on me. I am supposed to be king, aren’t I? I have to take after him in some ways."
Kiernan said with a wry smile and stood up to lean against the terrace’s railings.
"...You’re leaving for the night again?"
Indi asked while tightly hugging Fen.
"You’ve been keeping tabs on me, little sister? Haha, I just like the West Kingdom during the night, that’s all."
Kiernan said with a chuckle.
In truth, he used nighttimeto search for an exit out of this place, while during daytime he had to act as the crown prince.
"The crown prince shouldn’t go out during the night. It will cause some nasty rumors to spread out, big brother."
Indi said.
"I appreciate your concern, little sister, but those rumors are of no concern to me."
Kiernan hopped on the railing, spun around to look at his little sister, and winked before falling down on his back.
"Ah!"
Indi ran to the railing, looked down, and thought she would see Kiernan falling towards the ground below, but he was nowhere to be seen!
He disappeared!
