Chapter 344: The childbirth (Part – 1)
The next morning, Ava learned about the attack on Dylan. The moment she heard that he was injured and had been rushed to the hospital, her heart sank. Panic hit her like a tidal wave, and she rushed to the hospital without thinking anything.
Her heart pounded as she rushed through the hospital corridors. She barely noticed the people around looking at her strangely. Her mind was consumed with one thought: Dylan.
She pushed open the door to his room, her breath catching at the sight before her. Dylan sat on the hospital bed, his arm resting on the pillow, his hand wrapped in thick gauze. His face was calm, but his eyes flickered with concern the moment he saw her.
"Ava!" Dylan straightened. "Why are you here?"
Ava couldn’t stop her tears from falling. She rushed over to him, her gaze dropping to his hand. "Your hand," she choked. She wanted to ask so many questions, but her throat tightened, and she couldn’t speak.
"Relax," he said, offering a small smile. "It’s just a scratch—really, nothing serious."
But she couldn’t stop the tears that burned her eyes. The sight of him in that hospital bed yet again shattered her composure.
"A scratch?" Her voice cracked. "I heard how badly you were injured. Don’t try to cover it up."
He reached up, gently wiping away the tear that slid down her cheek. "It’s not that deep. The doctor already checked—it’s just a few stitches. I’ll be fine completely in a few days."
But she shook her head, her body tense with worry. "You don’t understand. When I heard you were hurt, I—" She sucked in a shaky breath, unable to finish the sentence.
Dylan’s fingers threaded through hers, giving them a reassuring squeeze. "I’m right here, Ava. I’m okay. You don’t have to cry."
