Ava’s mind reeled, replaying the kidnapper’s chilling words over and over. She immediately checked the messages she had just received and found the address.
There it was—a location pinned far from the city, into the suburbs.
Ava pressed her lips into a thin line, her thoughts racing in every direction. The kidnappers had been clear: no police, no backup. But going there alone? That was like walking straight into a trap.
Her hand instinctively moved to her belly. Could she really risk her unborn child?
The mere thought chilled her to the bone. In her past life, she had lost her child. But this time, she had sworn to protect her baby at all costs.
"What should I do?" She raced her mind.
Calling the cops was out of the question. Any wrong move could push the kidnappers into something drastic. And she couldn’t bear the thought of her father suffering because of a mistake.
Only one name came up to her mind – Dylan. He would certainly find a way. But the thought of involving him made her stomach twist with anxiety.
"He hasn’t recovered fully," she mumbled, tears blurring her vision.
Dylan was still healing, his strength had not yet returned. If he got hurt because of this—how would she ever forgive herself?
