Dylan showed Justin the photograph of Lydia with Mr. Blair. "I’m certain he is the one backing them." He tapped the image for emphasis. "Blair was the one who pulled Erica out of Baker’s nightclub that night. I need every single detail about him—who he meets, where he goes, and what he is planning."
"Understood, sir," Justin affirmed. "I’ll get back to you as soon as I dig something up."
He hesitated for a moment, then added, "By the way, there is more. The Baker Group is on the verge of bankruptcy. Word on the street is that the founder of S & Co. is moving in to take over."
"S & Co.?" Dylan furrowed his eyebrows. That was the same company partnering with Ace Group on the port project. His instincts flared.
"Who is the founder?" he asked, curiosity piquing his mind.
"The owner keeps a low profile. Rumor has it he owns multiple small and mid-sized businesses and invests across different sectors. This takeover will be his first major move into a corporate giant."
Dylan’s frown deepened. The description sounded far too familiar. One name crossed his mind – Nicholas.
The pattern fit perfectly. Nicholas was notorious for investing from the shadows, never revealing which companies he controlled. And now, with Baker Group collapsing, the timing was too precise to be a coincidence.
Dylan was sure the mysterious person was none other than Nicholas. After all, he had been planning to get back to the Bakers. Finally, he was going to acquire Baker’s fortune.
Dylan’s lips curled into a sly smile, satisfaction gleaming in his sharp gaze. "It’s him. Nicholas. He has been planning this all along, and now he is finally making his move."
