My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back

Chapter 273: That man is nothing but a snake.

Dylan refused to give up. Ignoring the nurse’s warning, he pushed himself toward the edge of the bed and extended his hand to reach her. A hiss of pain escaped his lips, and he grimaced, his movement faltering.

Alarm flashed in Ava’s eyes, and she turned back, only to see him in pain. She rushed to his side, her earlier anger momentarily forgotten. "What are you doing?" she scolded, gently guiding him back against the headboard. "Don’t move, you’ll hurt yourself!"

Dylan’s arms wrapped around her, pulling her close to his chest. "I am sorry," he whispered.

Ava shrugged in resignation and froze in his hold. Her lips trembled as she fought back a sob.

"I’ll never say anything like that again. Will you forgive me?"

"No," Ava said flatly.

"Then what should I do to earn your forgiveness?"

Her gaze flicked to him. "You should focus on your recovery. Stop filling your head with nonsense."

"I will. I promise to follow the treatments the doctor suggested." His hand reached up to gently lift her chin. "Now, do you forgive me?"

Ava pushed his hand away. "No, not yet."

Dylan’s face fell, helplessness etched into every line. "Ava, I’ve already apologized."
