Chapter 262: We have proof
At the farmhouse...
Dylan’s phone buzzed, breaking the stillness and drawing him out of his thoughts. He glanced at the screen before answering.
"Hello?"
"I’ve picked Nina up," Justin’s voice came through. "We are on our way and should be there soon."
Dylan’s jaw tightened, his expression hardening. "Alright. Bring her."
Ending the call, he slid his phone back into his pocket and turned toward the car. Opening the trunk, he pulled out a suitcase, the weight of it matching the gravity of the situation. Carrying it inside, he walked straight to the bedroom. He found Ava standing by the window.
When he entered the room, she turned around. Their eyes met, an unspoken tension crackling in the air. Neither seemed eager to be the first to speak.
Dylan put the suitcase aside. "Justin had just called," he said, breaking the silence. "He will be here soon."
"He is coming here," Ava exclaimed, surprise flickering across her face. Then she realized Justin might be bringing the traitor. She couldn’t wait to see who it was.
