As Ava stepped into the room, her gaze immediately caught her father speaking in low tones with his assistant. Their quiet, almost secretive conversation raised her eyebrows.
When both men saw her coming in, they stopped talking. Thomas gave a subtle nod to his assistant. "We’ll talk later."
The middle-aged man acknowledged the instruction with a brief nod, gathered his folder, and exited the room without a word.
Once they were alone, Ava wasted no time. "Papa, what did you say to Dylan? Do you really want me to move into his house? Have you forgotten we are already divorced?"
Thomas sighed and gestured for her to sit. But Ava remained rooted, her arms crossed tightly as she waited for his response.
Thomas’s eyes drifted toward the window, his thoughts returning him to his earlier conversation with Dylan.

"Are you truly serious about Ava?" Thomas’s voice was sharp, cutting through the tension in the air. "Do you really want to reconcile with her?"
Dylan met his gaze without flinching. "Yes, I’m serious," he said firmly. "I’ve realized my mistakes. Losing her made me understand her worth. I’m determined to win her back and make things right. I want this second chance, and I’ll prove myself."
Thomas’s piercing eyes never left Dylan’s face. He studied him intently, weighing the sincerity of his words. Though he saw the unwavering determination in Dylan’s expression, Thomas wasn’t one to be easily convinced.
"The cooling-off period is nearly over." Thomas’s voice was cold and measured. "Ava still hasn’t changed her mind about the divorce. You can’t force her to come back to you."
