Chapter 196: The suspicion
Ava’s mind swirled with confusion and dread as she tried to piece everything together. She could barely think of anything but Henry’s safety. "How is Henry? Is he hurt?"
"Yes, he is fine. He is on the way and will be here shortly."
Moments later, the sound of brisk footsteps filled the corridor, and Henry arrived, dressed in green uniform, ready for the surgery. His face was calm and resolute as if nothing had happened.
Dylan intercepted him briefly, his gaze scanning him for any signs of harm. "Are you okay, buddy?"
Ava also came over and watched him worriedly.
Henry offered a small, reassuring smile. "I’m fine, Dylan. Don’t worry about me. Right now, focus on praying for your father-in-law. Let’s hope the surgery goes smoothly. We’ll talk about everything else later." Nodding at Ava curtly, he entered the operating room.
As the door clicked shut, Dylan’s expression darkened, his thoughts shifting to Mathew Fisher. He couldn’t shake the suspicion gnawing at him. Dr. Fisher’s sudden change of heart and suspicious actions were too much of a coincidence to ignore.
’This doctor has some connections with Lydia and Erica,’ his mind whispered.
But he wanted to hear it from his mouth. Dylan squared his shoulders, ready to interrogate Mathew Fisher.
"Where are you going?" Ava’s question stopped him just as he took a step forward.
"I’ll be back soon. Stay here." With that, he walked away.
