My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back

Chapter 130: Shopping spree

Ava’s lips pressed into a tight pout. Her irritation was unmistakable as she shot a sharp glance at Dylan. "What kind of brother are you?" she snapped. "Shouldn’t you be taking care of her? She is pregnant, for God’s sake!"

Dylan opened his mouth to reply but found himself at a loss for words. Her accusation left him fumbling for a defense.

"You are such a disappointment," she continued reprimanding him. "At least try to show some care for your sister."

Dylan scratched his head awkwardly, inwardly cringing. He regretted sending that message to Lilianna earlier. She wouldn’t have canceled to come with them if he hadn’t convinced her to bow out of the plan. "Lilianna wanted us to go," he murmured hesitantly, barely meeting Ava’s eyes. "I didn’t know how to refuse her. I thought she’d be upset."

Ava rolled her eyes with exasperation as she climbed into the car. "I’m not going anywhere," she declared firmly. "Take me back home."

Dylan sighed, running a hand through his hair, his mind reeling. He wasn’t ready to give up, but he also didn’t want to push her too hard. He quietly slipped into the driver’s seat, his expression solemn.

"Alright, we’ll go home," he said gently. "But what will you tell Lilianna when she calls? She’ll be upset if she finds out we didn’t go."

Ava fell silent, her frustration mingling with hesitation. She knew Dylan was right—Lilianna would be disappointed if she learned that they had canceled the plan.

Letting out a long sigh, she leaned back against the seat. "Fine," she muttered reluctantly. "Let’s go shopping."

Dylan’s lips curled slightly in satisfaction. He wouldn’t stop trying to make her happy. "As you wish."

As the car pulled out of the driveway, he glanced at Ava out of the corner of his eye. He silently resolved to make the outing worthwhile.
