My Ex-Husband Begged Me to Take Him Back

Chapter 112: I am already regretting it.

Lilianna was finally moved to the ward, her face pale but her smile bright and full of warmth. She looked up at Ava with a playful glint in her eyes. "Did I scare you?" she asked innocently.

Ava nodded. "Yes. And I am sorry. I was..."

"Lili...how are you feeling now?" Dylan barged into the room; his steps brisk with urgency. Both women turned to him, their conversation abruptly interrupted. Ignoring Ava completely, Dylan made a beeline for his sister, practically shoving Ava aside in his haste.

Ava stumbled slightly, her mouth dropping open in disbelief. Just a few minutes ago, he had been speaking with her so softly. She had even thought he had changed. But now, he treated her as though she didn’t exist. The sting of his indifference prickled her skin, and Ava couldn’t stop her frustration from bubbling over.

Grasping Lilianna’s hands, Dylan asked, "Do you feel okay? Are you comfortable? If there is anything wrong, I’ll call the doctor immediately."

"Stop overreacting," Lilianna whined. "I am fine. Ava is with me. She will take good care of me. You should go and rest."

"No, Ava can’t stay here," Dylan said immediately, catching Lilianna by surprise.

Ava was stunned too, but annoyance soon overpowered her. She silently clenched her fists.

Lilianna blinked in surprise. "What do you mean, she can’t stay?" She had been planning to use this opportunity to tell Ava about what she had learned from Dylan. She thought this would make Ava believe that Dylan wasn’t planning to hurt her father. But Dylan was inexplicably chasing Ava away.
