Chapter 95: Aren’t I enough?
Inside the room...
Ava’s smile lingered in the corners of her lips, but that looked strained. She took a steadying breath, glancing at the lovely flowers Nicholas had brought.
"The bouquet is beautiful," she said softly, shifting the conversation to ease the tension. "Is it for me or... for your dream girl?" she teased, a hint of playfulness in her tone.
A smile broke onto Nicholas’s tight face, his eyes softening. "It’s for you," he replied quietly, handing her the bouquet before setting a fruit basket on the side table. His worry lingered as he looked at her. "I am relieved that you are fine. Or else, I wouldn’t have forgiven myself." Unable to control his emotions, he reached out and caressed her face.
Ava stilled, surprised by his touch, and her eyes met his instantly.
Just then, the door swung open, and Dylan entered. He stopped short, the scene in front of him catching him off guard. Dylan’s mind reeled; the closeness between them, the way they looked at each other appeared so intimate as if they were deeply in love.
Anger and jealousy hit him in waves, driving him insane. "Ava!" he shouted as he charged toward them.
Ava’s startled gaze shifted to Dylan, her pulse quickening. Nicholas quickly dropped his hand and turned to face him, but before he could process what was happening, Dylan seized him by the collar, his face twisted with anger.
"How dare you touch my wife?" Dylan growled. "I’ll tear your hand apart."
