Chapter 519: Reiner - Bold Love
“Ok...” I mumbled.
His hands continued to massage my shoulders and my back before he continued on with his story. I wondered what his story had to do with the question that I asked originally.
“I guess my mother was lonely being quite alone on the island and the only girl in the household. So, I put in effort to do things with her that she wanted. Of course, I’m not a girl so I couldn’t act like the perfect daughter that she wanted but I still tried to do my best for her sake. I went along with her on many things that she wanted to do with her ideal daughter. She taught me how to paint nails, do her hair and all that,” Reiner told me quite casually.
“Isn’t that...strange?” I asked since I couldn’t stop myself.
“Probably...but we’re a very strange family if you haven’t already figured that out by now,” Reiner replied jokingly.
“Well, I’m reaping full benefit from it, so I don’t really mind,” I said joyfully before looking back to smile at him.
“Let me help you clean so we can get out of here,” Reiner said as if he wanted to bring an end to this conversation.
I nodded my head at him as my mind continued to ponder his words. No matter what, I couldn’t stop thinking of what Reiner’s childhood was like. It was really sweet of him to be there for his mother. I had no idea what it must have felt like to want to have another child and to not be able to do so. Thankfully, Queen already had Reiner and he did his best to fulfill her wishes in his own way.
