Chapter 269: Sweet Talk
Edward’s eyes widened as I poked his chest with my index finger and grinned at him. When Edward started laughing loudly at my response, it was my turn to feel a little stunned.
“You really are sweet talking me, not that I hate it...” Edward said after he managed to control his own laughter.
Without warning, he scooped me up into his arms and I cried out his name as I threw my arms around his neck. Edward carried me swiftly to our bedroom. The children were already in bed and the mansion was silent and peaceful. It was a stark contrast to the loud and slightly chaotic atmosphere in the mansion when the children were up and about.
“Are you tired?” Edward asked after carefully placing me on the bed.
“A little...” I admitted. The party was exciting, but it took quite a bit of energy from me.
I was happy that everyone seemed to enjoy it though. In the future, when we look back at this day, it’ll definitely be a great memory for us to mark the start of our journey at our newly formed company.
“Not too tired, I hope...” Edward said. I felt his warm arms and body envelop me into a hug as he hugged me from behind.
“You want to...do it?” I asked, although, I thought that I already knew the answer.
“Don’t you?” He asked back, his hot breath tickling my ear and making my body tingle.
