Chapter 712: When you finish the big quest and dozens of side quests start to show up
One of the best feelings in the world was having a soft, clean sheet to sleep on. Even better if your blanket was a pair of familiar, sturdy arms and your pillow was a pair of nice chests.
Ahem.
No--seriously, though. Even after opening my eyes, I didn’t want to get up or leave. I just lay there, drowsily, holding on to him while listening to his heartbeat. I knew he was already awake from it, perhaps way earlier than me. But I loved that he let me just lie there like that for at least five minutes without saying anything, just stroking my messy hair.
"It’s so nice to wake up in your arms again," I whispered to his chest.
"And it’s so nice to wake up with you in my arms," he whispered to my hair.
I giggled because it felt so silly, and snuggled up to his neck, inhaling the unique scent of intermingling cold and burnt aroma. "It’s also been a while since I didn’t wake up to you feeding Shwa."
Most of the time, I would wake up alone with him on the balcony taking our son for a dose of morning sunlight and a bottle of milk. Not that I was complaining; sometimes I could hear him conversing--one-sidedly--with Shwa, and it was adorable.
But sometimes, I just wanted him to be there with me on the bed, so I wouldn’t have to take a few seconds to realize that I wasn’t alone.
"The kid is behaving well this morning," he chuckled. "Didn’t cry and scream for you at all."
"Maybe he knew his Papa needed his Dada this morning," I raised my head and gave him a morning peck on the lips.
"What a filial child."
