Chapter 667: Fishing is an activity to test your patience and tenacity
Every day, all I did was listen to the reports coming from the Human Realm.
Natha told Heraz to report back on anything. Even if there was nothing to report, he told them to send an update at least once a day. I told Zarfa the same things.
The problem with not being there to do it was the constant anxiety of not knowing shit. I felt like I would just walk around unable to do anything if I didn’t have a clear grasp of what happened over there, that was why I requested such a system.
Even if that means a huge amount of mana stones had to be spent for communication...so what? My husband was the wealthiest of them all, and I no longer had mana deficiency.
The first few days, as our anniversary month came to a close, were filled with nothing but travel logs. Shapeshifted could move fast, but not Tsalinade. We also didn’t want her to waste mana in teleportation, so they had to move swiftly by land.
Meanwhile, the Hero and his companion also started to move secretly out of our base city, toward the next one with a Midas branch. They would show themselves to the public entering the next city but before then, they would move in the shadow.
"We’ll follow the route toward the Holy Empire too," Natha explained for a few times already. Not because I wasn’t focused before, but because hearing the explanation made me calmer. "Since our objective is to be ’captured’, it would be ideal to have it happen as close as possible from the central."
"And...Qu’en will escape right before entering the church, right?"
"Yes, since we can’t have them get exposed as a demon," Natha nodded. "Besides, we might get them in even more panic seeing ’you’ vanish like a mist."
And he said it literally. As I had witnessed so many times in Heraz, shapeshifted could turn into mist or blend in the shadow. They would be very hard to detain, even if the church put on a mana-suppressing cuff.
After all, shapeshifter’s shifting ability was their natural trait; there was no need for mana.
