Chapter 573: Baby is the center of the universe
"Oh, you people are here."
Natha came at the end of our tea time, glancing at the guest briefly, kissed me briefly, and made an immediate beeline to our baby. He took Shwa from Angwi’s arms and walked around the room with a baby in his arms, stroking the dark hair and talking in a whisper with him.
"As if we are invisible," Zia scoffed. "Doesn’t even care that his cute, hardworking niece is here after two months."
I shook my head exasperatedly. "He used to check up on me every few hours before--now he barely gives me a glance if Shwa is in the same room."
And to think he refused to stay with Shwa during his birth...see how he immediately shifted now? Well, not that I have any complaints about him putting so much attention to his mini version--and it was super adorable anyway--but it was fun talking smack about your husband with your friends.
Of course, the one who always had a beef with Natha chimed in eagerly. "Natha don’t play with Jade again," the little boy climbed to my lap. "Don’t read picture books for Jade again."
I thought you didn’t like to spend time with him? I squeezed his cheeks while stifling my laugh. Hmm...if it came to it, Jade did not act as jealous as I thought he would be. Even though our focus all shifted to Shwa, he did not throw a tantrum and said things like I didn’t love him anymore.
But then again, Jade spent all his time in the nursery--playing with Shwa when the baby was awake and reading the picture books that Zarfa gifted them when the baby was asleep.
It was good that we had a lot of nannies because turned out, they had to babysit my eldest child too.
"Your husband’s priority had shifted, huh?" Zarfa laughed.
"Just like yours," I shrugged, and she laughed even louder.
