Chapter 549: One day, friends will have to take their own path and grows
[Is she alright?] Aleena asked worriedly when I returned to Natha’s study.
"Izzi is calming her," I let out a relieved sigh as I took a seat on the sofa again--this time, Natha came to sit with me. "She’s still going with it, just with more confidence this time."
Mara had provided us with refreshments while I was kidnapping Zia, and I appreciated the warm cocoa before lunch. While sipping on the steaming sweet goodness--I liked them a bit scalding, you see--I could hear Aleena’s complicated sigh.
She must have been conflicted between feeling glad that she gained additional power by her side as well as appeasing Natha, and having her beloved little sister taking unwanted responsibility--unlike her, who had always that ambition to take up power.
"She’ll be fine as long as she has her...emotional support," I glanced at the basket of pastries that had never looked so appealing as now. The afternoon tea felt so far away, but Natha wouldn’t let me have a snack right before lunch.
Tsk--what am I, a kid?

"Oh, just let her boyfriend go with her," I shrugged. "His debt with Natha is already cleared, so he has no obligation to stay here anymore as long as he still reports his invention progress."
We didn’t have urgent projects anymore after the mana transfusion, and Neel would be enough for maintenance. Aside from that, Izzi still had a lot of things to take care of outside of this place, so it might be a good time for him to start. After the wedding, he probably only stayed here for Zia anyway.
I exchanged glances with Arta, and we chuckled at the development that we had kind of seen from a long time ago. We had just been waiting silently in front of them, and gossiping behind their back. Fun times, really.
[I never thought she would fall for an elf] Aleena sounded dazed.
