Chapter 539: Have you ever thought employing a demigod to paint your baby room and babysitting your child?
Natha put me down carefully in front of the bassinet, but even though my heart screamed and told me to check it right away, my body froze.
My hands, pausing in the air, were too scared to touch it. Thoughts like ’what if I break it’ flooded my mind, like what some people might think when they were in front of a beautiful piece of art.
And, oh...it was an art, alright.
Call me excessive or whatever--I didn’t care. For me, this box that my baby would use in the near future was an art.
Firstly, the white color was very fitting with the fluttering white petals all over the wall. And even without me saying anything, there were flower-shaped filigrees all over the frame, with small refined colorful jewels as the center of the flowers. A steady stream of mana that fueled the formations hidden all over the bassinet could be felt from those jewels.
It looked beautiful yet strong, and it was made of white timber that was stronger than metal. The many formations I asked to be carved were done expertly in such a way that they wouldn’t be seen from outside. The sheer fabrics the druid sent from me, made of elemental stone thread, were used for an attachable canopy during the night and nap time. Naturally, this canopy also had all kinds of protections.
All I could say was just...perfect. It was so perfect.
Oh, Uncle Sol. I could forgive you just from this alone, you know...
"How is it?" Natha asked after I let out the breath I forgot to exhale. I did not bother to answer and just looked at him. From how he immediately laughed, I knew it was properly conveyed through my expression. He nodded and smiled in satisfaction. "Mm, worth the money."
For the sake of my sanity--and so I wouldn’t feel guilty--I would never look at the invoice.
"Haa...isn’t it pretty?" I finally found the courage to touch the bassinet after seeing that it was made of sturdy materials. My fingers brushed over the beautiful filigree in awe. "How could Uncle Sol thought about decorating it with flowers?"
