The Demon Lord's Bride (BL)

Chapter 331: as easy as giving candy to children

Jade attacked Natha with his tiny fists because he felt my slight distress earlier, and thought that it was caused by Natha. But I could sense it was also because we were spending too long beneath that tree, and my child started to feel jealous.

But in such a nice place, no one could get angry for long. Natha threw the little boy into the lake and we ended up waging a war of waterball. Me and Jade against Natha at first, and then the fairies joined us, while Ignis was scoffing and saying that it didn’t want go join such childish activity--pfft. After finishing the camp, Ilya joined the fight, and we all attacked the lone Nightmare who accurately deflected our water balls with his own.

And then we came back to the camp all drenched from the water. But hey, it was fun!

And you know what was beat? Amarein drying us with magic instantly. Whoosh! And we were all dry. Messy from the blow of air, but there was no need to fumble with the change of clothes. Not only that, Halurean had been busy preparing our dinner while we were playing with the water, so we got spoiled with a nice, warm stew and grilled mushroom.

The tent that we used was nowhere near the luxury I experienced in the oasis. It was more cramped, just enough for two people to sleep comfortably--although I’d use it alone. But this was closer to the camping I imagined when I was still on Earth, and the way we gathered around the campfire before sleeping was so delightful that I felt rather sad when Natha told me I should go to bed.

But Jade was sleepy too, so I entered the tent with the fairies and Ignis. And what do you know? The moment I lay down inside the camp, I fell asleep before I knew it. Seemed like the journey and the emotional talk I had with Natha wore me out, because I only woke up when the sky was already bright. On my pillow, there was a little bird and three little fairies.

I scooped them in my arms and crawled out of the tent, finding Amarein sitting on the log with a warm drink in her hands, and Ignis perching on a boulder sunbathing as usual. Halurean was again cooking breakfast, but Ilya was helping him this time.

Natha was there too, mixing something in a steaming cup. His eyes flicked toward me, as if in automatic, and a smile bloomed on his lips. "Good morning sweetheart."

His greeting prompted the others to turn toward me.

"Good morning, Valen."

"Good morning, Young Master."
