The Demon Lord's Bride (BL)

Chapter 275: I don’t think I would fancy an eternal life

"A piece of our soul?"

My eyes widened when I heard the explanation about the mark of eternal as D’Ara brought me for a walk through the meadow on the valley after luncheon.

"Yes," she drew two circles with her mana in the air—one blue and one red—and I watched as a section of the circles that were facing each other twisted and elongated, forming lines.

The lines met in the middle, intertwining with each other, pulling onto each other; the blue lines crept into the red circle, and vice versa. They swirled around each other, seeping into each other’s line, merging, until, in the end, both circles turned purple and connected.

"The bond of eternal means you exchange a piece of your soul with your partner," she waved her finger to separate the circle, and both turned a dull shade of their original color. "To be incomplete when you’re alone—" she moved the circles back together, and once they were connected, both circles turned a vibrant purple again, "—and whole when you’re together."

"It’s..."

"Dangerous," she said.

"I’m about to say beautiful," I scratched my neck and smiled awkwardly. I took a glance at the runs circling my ring finger. The one I couldn’t live without. Natha was right, wasn’t that basically what the mark of eternal was?

D’Ara smiled and stroked my chin lightly. "I guess, a lot of things in this world have both qualities existing at the same time."

Why did she say it as if it was me who had those qualities? Wouldn’t Natha be more fitting? He was beautiful to me, but others seemed to see him as someone dangerous—or rather, scary.

"But why it’s dangerous?"
