Chapter 243: Isn’t it nice to know that the weather won’t hinder your fashion?
My battle dress for this court trial was a white tunic with sparkling blue embroidery and a light blue coat with white fur linings. I did not wear many accessories aside from the ring Natha gave me, but Arta took a liking to gilding my hair with the white snowflake blooms.
"You look very nice," Natha wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my temple, despite Arta screaming not to ruin my appearance before we arrived at the court. He looked into the mirror and stroked my neck, over the line of the high collar. "This place seems empty."
"Are you going to give me a collar or something?"
"Mm, kinky," the cold hand slipped behind the collar line and Arta snapped.
"I told you not to make a mess, my Lord!" she stomped her feet to the ground like Zia when she was sulking--I wondered if the succubus actually got her temper from Arta. "I know Young Master is irresistible, but please don’t destroy my work."
"Don’t say such an embarrassing thing!" I hissed at them, and despite Arta’s protest, Natha still gave my neck a little peck.
Just then, Zia came peeking from the door. By Natha’s permission, I had told her all about the trial and this whole drama. Of course, Zia was furious and said she wanted to see their face too--so she could use them as a model for villains in her book or something.
And then, behind her, was an elf dressed as if we were about to march through blizzards. Izzi too, wanted to see the court--because he was bored or whatever. I told him I would take him if he could think of a new invention before the court hearing.
He did not manage to have one concrete invention, but he managed to make a whole study about making a mobile image recording device--yeah, a video camera--so I gave him a leeway.
"I thought Lesta gave you that warmer stone?" I tilted my head at the elf, who was so tightly wrapped in clothes and scarfed that the only thing I could see of him was his bright golden eyes--and if he pulled his hood down further, I wouldn’t be able to see even that.
The formation that Lesta made on a stone that time when we were testing the engraving pen contained a temperature-increasing spell, and Lesta gave it to Izzi after that--so the elf could work better.
