Chapter 219: Look at me enjoying my sugar baby life
Since I had told them anyway, I let Izzi and Zia stay when Angwi called for Doun and the twin guards to the lounge.
Might as well; made it easier for me to hand out the souvenir I got from the trip. I took out the boxes I had sorted out with Angwi’s help, and laid them all above the rug in the middle of the room, as if we were having an indoor picnic.
Which wasn’t so wrong with how many snacks I brought here. The pile of snacks, for now, had become Jade’s bed as the little bird rolled around the packaging. If there was something crushed there, it was all this bird’s fault.
The twin guards, Urhe and Arha, still stood by the door even though I told them this was a casual meeting. But they were still adamant about their guarding role, which reminded me of the Chief Guard back in the Lord Castle, Haikal.
So, with a sigh, I took out a small box. It was thick and secured well, because the content was quite fragile. "So you don’t want the souvenir I got for you?" I pursed my lips and opened the box, where two identical vials were lying snuggly inside. "I put so much care into ordering this back in U’nung..."
After a second delay, the twins almost came sliding in front of me, sitting on their knees like obedient children waiting for a treat. "We’re sorry, Young Master! Please bestow us your gift!"
In an exaggerated manner--at least it was exaggerated in my eyes--they raised their palms in front of their bowing head. I put the vials in their hands, one for each twin, and when they raised their head, they stared at the vials without blinking.
"This is..." Urhe parted his lips, but nothing came out of his mouth anymore.
"Are you sure...we can accept this, Young Master?" Arha asked slowly, carefully, and they both looked at me with worry, but also anticipation.
I could see that they really, really wanted this vial--or rather the content inside. It was an essence of three thousand different ingredients, mixed and brewed and aged for a couple of years before it was ready. Not many were produced in a year, but there were some in the auction that I visited with Arta in the western city of U’nung.
The effect was simple; it amplified one’s physical and magical abilities. It was like a dopping that gave you a permanent buff with no side effects. In a game term, it was like getting a potion that increased your stats and skills proficiency permanently.
