The Demon Lord's Bride (BL)

"I want to see you..."

I blurted out those words before I could think it through. It came out just like that, even though I just heard the voices of his staff in the background, even though I knew he was busy with work.

But my heart that was beating so hard chased the sudden desire, and there was nothing more in my head except for the fact that I wanted to see him.

[...now?] his reply came in a delay, telling me how surprised he was. But I only mumbled weakly as a response and the next thing I knew, the connection was dead.

I spent a while just staring blankly at the orb. And then realization hit me and my hand flew to slap my cheek in scolding.

What the hell, Val? What were you thinking calling him like that just to confirm such a thing? What were you thinking asking to see him when you knew he was busy and—

My thought came to a stop when I felt mana fluctuation in the air above the balcony. The view of his figure and the leftover black feathers entered my sight, and all of those self-realizations I had a few seconds ago evaporated as I ran to the balcony.

"Sweetheart?" he called out as I stepped through the balcony door. "I can’t stay for long, so—"

I couldn’t really hear his voice, or comprehend his words, just reaching out to grab his cheek and pulling myself up to kiss him, hard. He couldn’t react for quite some time, until I pushed my tongue between his surprised, parted lips. He grabbed my waist and my nape then, and I circled my arms around his neck.

We stayed like that for a while, locking lips under the bright sky. When I pulled away to take a breath, he stared at me with keen eyes, as if he was trying to peer deeper into my thought.

But there was nothing in my thought but him right now. Just him, and how much I loved him right now.
