I rolled my eyes at what Edge said. Although he was acting like a child facing his rival, he wasn’t particularly hostile toward Cypher. Normally, this would be the moment where Edge would get so annoyed that he’d forget his manners and start a chaotic food fight. But today, his teasing felt more playful than aggressive, making it amusing to watch him childishly pick on Cypher.
I couldn’t help but wonder why Edge had changed so much. Was it the influence of our group? Or was he just in a good mood today?
My thoughts were interrupted by a knock. "Your food is ready," the waiter announced as he wheeled out a cart full of delicious dishes.
The sight of the food immediately shifted the atmosphere at the table. Angela’s eyes lit up, and she leaned forward eagerly. "Finally! I’m starving!"
The waiter began to serve the plates, presenting a lavish full-course meal that included Foie Gras Terrine with Fig Jam and Brioche, Lobster Risotto with Saffron and Parmesan, Grilled Lemon Herb Chicken, Filet Mignon, Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb, Pan-Seared Scallops, Seafood Paella, Pasta Primavera, Beef Tacos, Vegetable Stir-Fry, Chocolate Lava Cake, and White Rice.
Among the dozen dishes, I eagerly chose the Filet Mignon. I had been craving meat for a while now, especially since every time I tried to cook my own, Macaron and Glacier were already waiting, drooling at my feet. I had no choice but to settle for cafeteria food most of the time.
As soon as I took a bite, the steak practically melted in my mouth. I groaned in satisfaction. "Mmm, I wish I could eat this type of foods every day."
"Yeah, me too," Cypher commented, who had chosen Grilled Lemon Herb Chicken as his food.
I was about to respond when Angela chimed in, her excitement palpable. "It’s good, right? Right?" she exclaimed, practically bouncing in her seat. "I’m glad I was the one who chose where we would be eating."
"It is," Cypher said with a smile and took another bite.
Seeing him enjoy his meal, Angela cheered him on enthusiastically again. "It’s good, right?"
