The familiar sound seemed to awaken something deep within, drawing me back from the depths of the darkness. I opened my eyes slowly, allowing them to adjust to the light that gradually filtered back into focus.
I opened my eyes to a burst of color, instantly aware of my surroundings. The familiar landscape of Etheris Pinnacle Mountain stretched out before me, vibrant and alive. The lush green vegetation swayed gently in the breeze, and sunlight pierced through the trees like scattered gems, casting radiant patterns on the ground.
With my eyes half-closed, I instinctively searched for the source of the voice that had called my name.
"There you are," came the cheerful tone, startling me into focus. It was as if the beauty of the scenery mirrored the joy radiating from him. My heart skipped a beat as I blinked again.
In that moment of confusion, I thought I saw a familiar figure—a vision of Kairos smiling brightly at me. But as I blinked once more, the illusion faded, and it became clear that it was Cypher approaching, his hand outstretched toward me.
I took his hand, allowing him to help me stand. "Thanks," I murmured, regaining my balance as I turned to face the sloping path down the mountain.
"Remi! Where are you going?" Cypher asked, concern lacing his voice as I began my descent.
"I’m going back to my dorm," I replied. My mission here is done. With no immediate threats lurking nearby, I figured it was time for me to rest.
"Do you want me to accompany you?" Cypher offered, his footsteps quickening to keep up with mine.
I shook my head, a gentle smile playing on my lips. "There’s no need. You should go now or they’ll come looking for the both of us."
Just then, as if on cue, Angela appeared with her usual bubbly energy. "There you are! Let’s go now!" She looked between us, her eyes sparkling with impatience.
