Chapter 156
As Gusion approached his mentor’s office, he took a moment to gather his thoughts, preparing for whatever scolding Professor Orion might have in store for him. However, before he could even knock, the door swung open, and Professor Orion yanked him inside with an excited look.
"So? How did it go? What happened between you and Remillia?" he asked, his eyes gleaming with eagerness, as if he were waiting to hear about some grand adventure than the missions he went through.
"Nothing happened. We just talked, that’s all," Gusion replied, taking a seat and trying to appear nonchalant, though he couldn’t help the smile creeping onto his face at the mere mention of her name. His gaze drifted to the pouches in his lap, filled with the delicacies she had prepared.
Professor Orion leaned in as he suspiciously stared at his apprentice. "Then why are you smiling? And what’s that you’re holding?" he asked, clearly unable to hide his curiosity.
"It’s a gift from Remillia," Gusion said, popping one of the treats into his mouth. The flavor burst forth—sweet strawberries. He can’t help but remember the scent of her again.
The professor’s face shifted from excitement to a pout of jealousy. "Really? Then let me have the other one!" he exclaimed, moving with surprising speed to snatch the remaining pouch. But Gusion was quicker, and the pouches floated just out of reach, keeping them safe.
"You can’t," Gusion replied, savoring another bite. "This is only for me."
"Why you!" Professor Orion declared, exasperated, as he grabbed a nearby book and hurled it toward Gusion.
In a swift motion, Gusion dodged and made a beeline for the door. "I just came to check on how you’re doing," he said over his shoulder, smirking. "I still have to go somewhere. Bye, mentor!" With that, he closed the door just in time to hear the book thump against the wood behind him.
