The rest of the guild members couldn’t bring themselves to move or even speak, paralyzed by the sudden appearance.
Soon, a tall man emerged from the portal, his presence commanding and ominous. But before the Rogues could approach him, shadowy tentacles writhed behind him, slicing their heads clean off with eerie precision. Blood spattered as they fell lifelessly to the ground, and only one guild leader remained—trembling and desperate.
"P-please spare me!" he stuttered, kneeling down and practically groveling before Kairos. "I-I’ll give you money! Or anything you want!"
Kairos’s cold stare pierced through the fear-soaked air. He glanced at Magellan beside him. "Do we need to keep this one? He’s annoying me."
"Nah, you can kill him. Besides, there are three more members inside. You can choose one of them to live for the sake of stock price," Magellan said, his tone bored as if this were just a normal decision.
The guild master’s eyes widened. "N-NO!" However Kairos only grinned at him before his tentacles sucked out his life essence.
Seeing that his boss was done toying with his victim, Magellan cheerfully said, "Shall we go find the dungeon boss?"
"I’ll go alone," Kairos replied, surprising Magellan.
"Let’s go—" Magellan looked at him, puzzled. "What?"
"There are two people inside who are recruits... although I only want her," Kairos explained.
"Ahhh..." Magellan nodded, although he can’t hear boss’ last words.
