Chapter 133
Grumble~
I woke up to my stomach grumbling, the sound echoing in the quiet of my dorm room. Yawning, I glanced at the clock—6:01 AM. I groaned inwardly, realizing I had forgotten to eat dinner the night before in my rush to collapse into bed.
As I started to move, I noticed Macaron, curled up on top of my stomach. I carefully moved him to the side, trying to avoid waking him, before slipping out of bed.
I padded to the kitchen, but my excitement quickly faded upon scanning the empty shelves. Not a single food greeted me; our one month of supply had vanished overnight.
I sighed and closed my eyes briefly, irritation washing over me. "I wished for an owl, not a pig," I muttered. Left with no options, I went outside, still in my pajamas, and headed for the cafeteria.
By the time I can see the cafeteria coming into view, I still have my eyes half closed since I wasn’t much of an early bird. I was yawning when I bumped into someone.
"Where are you going so early in the morning?" It was Whitney. She seemed to be out for a morning jog as she was wearing a tracksuit.
"Hey, Whitney," I yawned again, stretching slightly. "I’m going to the cafeteria."
"I’ll go with you," she said, falling into step beside me.
"Mmm," was all I could manage as a response.
As we entered the cafeteria and grabbed our plates, I focused on the food choices, trying to shake off the sleepiness. Whitney opted for a healthy selection of fruits and oatmeal, while I piled my plate high with everything from scrambled eggs to a juicy steak.
