Chapter 129
A bunch of Eldorian heroes circled us as they drew every kind of weapons and pointed it directly at me. I blinked hard, momentarily dumbfounded by their aggressiveness.
"Excuse me?" I scoffed.
’Are they blind?’ The thought echoed as my irritation festered. There I was, soaked in sweat and radiating exhaustion from rescuing their precious crown prince, yet they saw me as their enemy.
My anger bubbled beneath the surface as I held both of my hands up signifying that I surrenndered, intentionally letting their precious crown prince fall down to the ground. It was childish but I wanted to provoking the heroes.
True enough, the heroes immediately rushed to Ezekiel, glaring at me as if I had tossed a dagger into their way instead of merely dropping a prince.
"Wait! She’s not—" Ezekiel tried to defend me but I cut him off.
"Before you lock me up in jail and torture me," I shot back, my voice dripping with sarcasm, "I just wanna say that if I were an enemy, I wouldn’t have brought back the crown prince here,
As soon as I finished my sentence, their expressions hardened, tension coiling in their muscles. I couldn’t help but smirk, taking immense satisfaction in the fact that I’d managed to piss them.
They looked ready to charge at me like a pack of wolves when Ezekiel’s authoritative voice rang out. "Touch a strand of her hair, and you’ll lose your job tomorrow. She was the one who helped me."
In an instant, the heat of their hostility dissipated, as they bowed their heads, returning their weapons in unison. "We’re sorry, Crown Prince."
