Chapter 108
Christian wanted to be swallowed by the ground right now as all he can hear was his heart heavily beating and crows cawing as if to embarrass him further.
Finally, I stood up and scanned the group—some of them were my classmates, others from different classes, all equally tired from the last few days.
"Everyone, listen up!" I declared, making sure my voice carried across the camp. All conversations stopped, and their eyes turned toward me.
"Since this is the last day of our exam," I continued, "you’re free to leave to earn more points or rest here until the time is up. Either way, it’s up to you."
I could see a few heads nodding in understanding, some students clearly torn between pushing their limits for more points or taking a well-deserved break.
Christian, still recovering from his earlier outburst, looked relieved, probably glad for a momentary distraction from the mess he’d created.
I waited for any questions or protests, but the camp stayed quiet. Everyone knew the stakes. Whether they chose to rest or push harder, today would mark the end of this grueling exam.
Christian, who had been sweating under the tension, finally breathed a sigh of relief. His knees had almost given out from the pressure earlier. Just as he was about to relax, Rex and Josh reappeared at his side with grins plastered on their faces.
"Way to ruin the mood," Rex teased, nudging Christian with a smirk.
Christian’s irritation flared, and he glared at them, ready to explode. "Where did you guys go?!" he snapped, his voice tinged with exasperation and disbelief.
Josh shrugged casually, not at all fazed by Christian’s outburst. "It’s your fault anyway. How could you interrupt their moment like that?" He rolled his eyes, as if Christian had just made the biggest faux pas of the century.
