Chapter 102
Whitney raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. "You’re the leader... but she’s the mastermind? Am I right?"
Ezekiel threw his hands up in exasperation. "Pretty much. But hey, someone’s got to keep things running while she... does whatever it is she does."
Whitney nodded, "I agree with you. Sometimes, she likes to do things by her own and would give the credit to someone else."
Rex chuckled, shaking his head. "Typical witch. She probably cast a spell on you so you’d do all her work, but at least she trusts you to handle things while she rests."
Ezekiel sighed again, resigned to his fate. "Yeah, yeah. Let’s just get things sorted out before she decides to dump even more on me."
They were in the middle of setting up their tents when a group of students suddenly appeared, their presence looming like a storm cloud. There were fifteen of them, and it was clear from their confident strides and the leader’s arrogant smirk that they were looking for trouble. Ezekiel stepped forward, trying to diffuse the situation before it escalated.
"Hey there," Ezekiel greeted them with a forced smile, hoping to keep things civil. But before he could say more, the leader of the group, a tall student with a cocky grin, cut him off.
"Leave this spot. It’s ours now!" the leader barked, his tone leaving no room for negotiation.
Ezekiel felt a headache coming on as he sensed another fight brewing. ’I’m trying to save your @sses here before the real monster wakes up to kick your @ss.’
"What if you join our group instead?" Ezekiel suggested, hoping to appeal to their pragmatism. "We’re already set up here, and with your numbers, we’d be stronger together. No need to fight over territory when we can just work as a team."
"And why should we join you? We’re stronger, we’ve got more people. What makes you think you can call the shots?" he challenged, his tone still aggressive.
