Chapter 431 Strange Creature
Arianne followed Michael’s gaze and raised a brow as she noticed the peculiar owl. Her steps slowed until she came to a stop beside him, eyes studying the creature with a faint frown.
"This one is unfamiliar," she murmured. "Master Elric."
The old man in the green robe stepped forward at once, hands folded neatly behind his back. "Yes, my lady?"
"Where did this owl come from?" Arianne asked, her tone curious.
Elric glanced at the bird, then back to her. "Ah... that one was brought in two weeks ago. A border patrol captain donated it—said they found it after a skirmish near the Mistpine Glade. It was injured, but healed quickly. Before this, we assumed it was a common night owl at first, but its regeneration ability was clearly that of a monster."
Arianne tilted her head. "It mutated?"
"We believe so," Elric confirmed. "It likely ate something. We’ve been keeping it under observation since, but it hasn’t shown any aggressive tendencies. Intelligent, though. Watches everyone who comes near."
Arianne hummed softly. "Fascinating."
Michael’s eyes flicked to her. "May I?"
She gave him a slight smile. "You want to try taming it?"
"I want to see if it reacts."
Michael eyed the owl again. It wasn’t large—perhaps a little bigger than a hawk.
