Chapter 249: Reverse operation, probability matching!
On the dining table were simple dishes. After today's thrilling incident, both Qin Nuo and Qin Yushi appeared somewhat weary, and the food they put into their mouths tasted bland.
The phone on the table buzzed.
Qin Yushi picked it up, glanced at it, and said, "The organization is already handling today's situation, and your application has been approved."
"Level 5 region?" Qin Nuo raised an eyebrow.
"There's one condition. Besides you, four other people will be matched with you in this instance," Qin Yushi said, putting a piece of carrot in her mouth.
"So this is what you've been wanting to tell me."
Even though he knew, Qin Nuo couldn't help but show a slight change in expression. "You can control the matching mechanism?"
Qin Yushi shook her head. "We're far from controlling it."
"We just narrowed the matching range of the mainframe login device. Players using the device at that moment are matched with the mainframe, increasing the probability of encountering the same instance, that's all."
"What's the probability?" Qin Nuo bit into a piece of chicken, found it still had some blood, paused, but didn't discard it and put it in his mouth. "Indeterminate probability, maybe 25%, 30%, and we've tried 50%, but only once."
"So even a fifty percent chance is difficult." Qin Nuo nodded thoughtfully.
Qin Yushi wanted Qin Nuo to understand how tough this was and said seriously, "In the horror game, there are too many secrets we don't know, and supernatural forces protect the order of this civilization. Achieving this result is actually a huge breakthrough."
Qin Nuo didn't say much, just asked, "So, last time you also participated in the matching, and that's how Shi Yu and I ended up in the same instance."
"Last time was still the trial phase, I didn't participate. Ten people were matched with you, and only Shi Yu succeeded."
"Fortunately, among those ten, Shi Yu was the only elite from the S group."
"He's a player above level ten. In the organization, few can compare with him in terms of experience or level," Qin Yushi said earnestly.
"I could tell, even though he seems unreliable, his strength is undeniable. If it weren't for him, I might not have made it out." Qin Nuo said this, but in reality, he had a backup plan at the time.
However, the result was that while he escaped, all efforts in the instance went to waste.
"But Shi Yu's report to the higher-ups mentioned that the difficulty of your matched instance was much higher than he expected, even comparable to his level!" Qin Yushi pondered aloud.
"I noticed that a long time ago."
"This is also a clue for you guys," Qin Nuo said.
"They're already investigating."
Qin Yushi nodded and changed the subject, "This time, the instance will be matched with four people instead of ten, to ensure the probability fluctuation."
"So who are the four people matched with me this time?" Qin Nuo asked.
"Shi Yu and I, and two others tentatively. Their game levels will be slightly lower to ensure the stability of the matching mechanism," Qin Yushi said.
"The levels are about the same as yours."
Qin Nuo noticed a problem, "Can't you substitute login?"
"Substitute login can only be done by high-level players replacing low-level players in an instance, not the other way around."
"When you substituted for me in the instance, I guessed your intention and prepared a new login device in advance."
Qin Yushi put down her chopsticks and took a sip of her drink. "There's a strict set of rules in the horror game matching process."
"The organization worked hard for a year to achieve these two practical breakthroughs."
It's like a Trojan virus breaking through a firewall, finding two vulnerabilities. Though insignificant to the whole, they are significant.
Qin Nuo wasn't interested in these details and put down his chopsticks. "I'll find the two tentative people myself."
"You should talk to that old man with the surname Fang."
"Why?" Qin Yushi was a bit puzzled.
"I want to have some choice of my own."
"To put it bluntly, I don't quite trust it. What if another Xin Ge shows up?" Qin Nuo looked into Qin Yushi's eyes.
Qin Yushi wanted to say something but knew Qin Nuo's temperament, so she could only nod. "I'll suggest it to them."
"Not suggest, not request, be firm. From the last call, I could tell that old man is afraid of a tough stance." Qin Nuo said with a hint of a smile.
Qin Yushi was silent, then asked, "Can you trust those two people?"
"Probably. Although we only met in the instance for a few days, we did go through life and death together."
Hearing this, Qin Yushi felt a bit helpless and shook her head, holding her forehead. "You really are reckless."
After dinner, back in the room, Qin Nuo took out the card left by Fang Ye, the blond man, from the drawer.
Can these two really be trusted?
Qin Nuo didn't know, but at least they seemed more reliable than the people arranged by Qin Yushi's organization.
After all, in Saint Yasi Asylum, if it weren't for these two, his third instance wouldn't have gone so smoothly.
"Tomorrow, I can rack up some WeChat steps again."
Qin Nuo muttered, putting away the card.
...
The next day, Qin Nuo went out, planning to go to the address on the card. Qin Yushi followed him closely, seemingly sticking even closer after yesterday's events.
"The car will be here soon," Qin Yushi said, putting away her phone.
"Cancel it. I prefer taking the bus. It calms me down," Qin Nuo said.
After nearly an hour and eleven stops, they got off the bus.
"Tianding District, 46 Haitang Street."
Qin Nuo looked at the address and then at the small street in front of him.
Qin Yushi looked at the bluestone-paved ground. The houses and shops here all had a uniformly antique style.
"Looks like an old antique street."
Today's sun was exceptionally harsh. Qin Yushi opened an umbrella to shield Qin Nuo's head. "Your two friends are from the guild."
Qin Nuo nodded, looking at the door numbers on both sides as they walked into the small street.
It was noon, the sun was blazing, and the street was quiet, with no one in sight.
After walking about a hundred meters, at the very corner, Qin Nuo found number 46, an antique shop with even more retro decor, particularly reminiscent of a grand courtyard from the Qingming period.
Upon entering, they saw an old man gently dusting the antiques with a feather duster.
Seeing guests at the door, the old man adjusted his reading glasses and looked at Qin Nuo and Qin Yushi. "Young man, who are you looking for?"
"Old man, how can you be sure we're not customers here?" Qin Nuo asked with a light smile, looking around.
"Hehe, isn't it obvious..."
"How could you young folks be interested in these things?" The old man said, polishing a ceramic bowl with a soft cloth.
Qin Nuo's gaze fell on the innermost part, where a man lay on a recliner, covering his face with a palm fan, sleeping.
"You must be friends of Xiao Fang. Go wake him up. This brat is always lounging around, but be careful, he has a temper when he wakes up."
The old man glanced over and continued dusting the antiques after speaking.
Qin Nuo exchanged a look with Qin Yushi and walked over, sitting next to the sleeping man.
Just as he was about to speak, the man spoke first, "Don't bother me with guild matters. I'm on vacation for half a month."
The man spoke lazily, not even opening his eyes under the fan.
Hearing the voice, Qin Nuo was fairly certain he had found the right person and smiled slightly. "I'm not from the guild."
"If you're Fang Ye, then we should know each other."
Qin Nuo's words made the man open one eye and glance at him. "Who are you?"
Qin Nuo didn't speak, flicked his fingers, and a card appeared as if by magic, which he placed on the table.
"Didn't you ask me to find you? Forgotten so soon?"
