Blacksmith of the Apocalypse

Chapter 1350: Tenacity of Beashaz

With the agreement of the Soul’s ego, Seth began his work. Before anything else. Seth to out his soul engraver to enchant Pithra's Soul. The enchantment he had already chosen earlier was the legendary enchantment of Durability, Strength, and Endurance he had once managed to learn by studying a broken shield from Spatia.

By enchanting the soul with it, all three set items would share the rise in durability, at the cost of the stats being split between them. It was not really a problem, as the stats were just a small additional gain in addition to the durability.

Of course, he had also thought of simply using three souls, so he could imbue all three with even better durability. He may have done so if Pithra's soul had not been an even better fit than he expected. The chance to get synergies between the soul and the prayer bead was too tempting to pass up for some flimsy raise in stats.

Although the legendary enchantment of durability didn't sound like much compared to more high-profile effects, it was nonetheless a legendary enchantment. it took Seth quite some time and effort to engrave the soul with the complicated circuit, but it wasn't the biggest challenge in the project. Soon, he was done with the enchantment and could continue with the next step.

The method to stretch apart a soul, so he could use one for several items, was not new to the blacksmith anymore. Having become more skilled in it, he was able to do so without putting any greater strain on the life essence he had just enchanted.

With three equal parts, only connected by a small tether, he started shaping the first, using Charon’s Obol and wearing his Wraithguard, the gauntlet that improved his handling of souls. The process of enlarging and forging the soul like metal was well practiced, and the first part soon took on the shape of a ring, embedded with a tear-shaped pearl.

In a similar manner, the second part took on the shape of a smooth ring band, embedded with a stone along the ring. Owing to the complexity of the pendant Seth and Sivri had designed, the third part became a little more finicky.

Seth had to replicate the structure of the pearl on an axle, held by two rings. Even when he was able to enlarge the soul to work on it, it took the blacksmith a while to even come up with a way to do it. After all, he could not separate or grind away parts.

He felt a little like the glassblowers in documentaries he had seen when he was younger. The manner in which they stretched and pulled the heated or partially molten glass into complicated shapes. It was similar to his conundrum and ultimately gave him the inspiration he needed.

Similar to them, he could stretch and pull the soul and reconnect it to itself; he just couldn’t cut it. Seth ended up shaping the irregular bead with the axle sticking out from its poles first, leaving a big lump on one end of the soul.
