The elder did not immediately react to my pronouncement. As he was a Martial Grandmaster 5, I couldn’t bully him directly with my qi like I had done with the guards, and we were standing on a large marble platform, not in the middle of a forest, so as a wood cultivator, my combat potential was somewhat limited. However, they had built this palace out of wood, and I could use that to my advantage.
I held out a hand and used my qi to peel thin wooden strips from the column nearest the elder.
The old man tried to react, but his reflexes weren’t fast enough.
One strip of wood slammed into the back of his knees, and two more pressed down on his shoulders, forcing him to kneel before me. Then, I sent a few more to wrap him in place. If this were normal wood, he would have been able to break free easily, but reinforced with my qi, he wasn’t so lucky.
I smirked at him. “Much better. That is the proper way to appear before a prince.”
The elder snarled at me. “You can’t do this! How dare you attack an elder of the Su Clan?”
I sent another strip of wood to slap the man across the face.
“Do you question the might of the Rising Sun Empire? Or is it just the Proud Mountain Kingdom you look down upon? What is the Su Clan? Why should I even put it in my eye?”
