Untouchable Lovers

Cheek pressed against cheek, in such tender intimacy, Chu Yu gasped softly, her hands on his shoulders holding him in place as she turned her face away slightly, calling in a low voice, "Rong Zhi."

Rong Zhi saw the shimmering wetness in her eyes and the uneasy tone of her voice, and he understood. Calmly and securely, he responded, "I’m here."

Chu Yu let out a sigh of relief and called out again, "Rong Zhi..."

"I’m here."

Accompanied by his response was a joy of regained treasure, a cherishment she had never felt before and likely would never feel again.

With some satisfaction, she sighed softly and her arms slid down, cupping Rong Zhi’s face as she looked at him earnestly. Her vision quickly blurred, and she slowly closed her eyes, timidly and tenderly kissing Rong Zhi’s cheek, a series of light touches resembling but even more tender than the wings of a butterfly.

Chu Yu’s face was already burning like fire, with rosy blush spreading across her cheeks. The flushed hue cast on her pale skin was like white jade and pearls beside the vibrantly crimson shrimp, adding an uncommonly exquisite beauty.

Rong Zhi lounged casually, permitting her movements, his gaze fixed on her. He saw her eyes tightly closed, her long lashes trembling slightly—a clear sign of modesty—yet she stubbornly maintained her composure. Her moist lips were bright, her breath scalding.

Rong Zhi lifted his hand to circle Chu Yu’s neck, his slender fingers like unfolding blossoms—half-open and half-closed—as his fingertips traced the delicate skin behind her ear.

Chu Yu clenched Rong Zhi’s shoulders tightly, feeling as if all her senses were like taut strings, converging on the spot behind her ear that he touched. His fingertips traced lightly over her skin, the occasional coarse scar grazing her.

After a moment, however, she noticed that the shoulders under her palms were bare, the warm skin bordered by rough scars, and this discovery sent a sudden panic through her.
