"Mr. Liu, Mr. Zhao," she said, addressing the two senior figures, "On behalf of Mr. Su, I’ll toast you. He drove here today and can’t drink, so please don’t take offense."

Su Shen, noticing the tension, opened his mouth to intervene, but Gu Zi gently stopped him. "Secretary Chen is just doing her job, looking out for you. Surely, as a boss, you don’t mind letting your employees have a chance to show their initiative?" she said, her voice smooth and calm.
Chen Ting, hearing this, immediately put down her wine glass, a look of panic crossing her face. "Mrs. Su, please don’t misunderstand," she stammered. "I’m only trying to look out for Mr. Su’s safety while driving. I wasn’t trying to show off or do anything to upset you. Please, don’t be angry with Mr. Su."
