Much like the last few forks, Langley stepped forward to guide us. “We’re almost there.”
Her tone makes it seem like this is the final fork. Phew.
I nodded silently. As expected, the underground journey had taken us about four hours. If Parein hadn’t been blindfolded, we probably could’ve shaved off thirty minutes to an hour.
Finally! I am so ready to get out of this musty place.
