She strolled over to the ancestral hall entrance door and walked through the door getting inside, she could already see Huo Qi kneeling there on the floor with a book in his palms reciting like someone reading a poem.
"Hahaha..." She softly giggled seeing how diligent Huo Qi received his punishment. Huo Shen didn’t have to supervise him and she wondered if it was all the same with all the other guards or if it was just him.
"What are you laughing about while walking over inside here? Aren’t we all in the same scenario? But what did you do?" Huo Qi glared at her as he returned his gaze to the book that was in his palms still very curious.
After that incident, he hadn’t thought that he would make her continue with the earlier punishment he had given her.
"We made the same mistakes, I’m here to pay my respects and receive my punishment..." She went forward and formally kowtowed giving respect to the Huo family ancestors’ tablets.
She didn’t need to do this as a form of punishment but as Huo Shen’s fiancé, she didn’t have to embarrass herself in front of everyone knowing Huo Dong would be present during their engagement party.
Everyone would try to find a fault in her and try to embarrass Huo Shen making sure they made him feel like the decisions he had made were all wrong, but she had to prove them otherwise.
She had to make sure, they didn’t have a loophole to use to their benefit, she couldn’t embarrass herself and Huo Shen, but she was doing it for herself.
Even though she knew some of the Huo family rules from her previous life, it still didn’t amount even to half of the existing Huo family rules and as the future Huo matriarch, this was fundamental and she had to know them overhead.
