Chapter 66; Does she hate me?
Her mood was getting cranky as days passed by, and she was failing to understand what difficulties her daughter was facing since she wasn’t opening up.
"Mother, I’m fine and at the moment I’m doing my homework which I need to concentrate on and get it done, can you please don’t disturb me?" She sharply glared at her before blowing her head and avoiding her mother’s gaze.
"Shi Shi..." Zhou Zan stretched her hand to hold her daughter’s hand but Huo Shi moved them backwards avoiding her mother’s hand.
"Mother, what’s the matter with you? I thought you were busy in the garden, you can go back and tend to your vegetables..." She wanted to close her bedroom door and go back inside but she heard footsteps echoing through the hallway approaching her bedroom door.
"Shi Shi, why are you using that rude tone addressing Mother? She is just worried about you! Can’t you be at least understanding?" Huo Yan’s voice echoed from the further side of the hallway as he got closer to the duo standing at the bedroom door.
"I’m busy brother...I have a lot of homework to work on at the moment and I ain’t in the mood to chitchat!" She lifted her eyebrows as her forehead creased glaring at her brother who had gotten closer.
"I wanted to know if you want to buy a dress for the upcoming engagement banquet of your Uncle, we have an invitation to attend..." Zhou Zan didn’t know what was the matter with her girl and why was she being this moody.
"Okay Mother, tomorrow we will go and buy dresses, I don’t have any new dress that matches the occasion..." After that short statement, she closed her bedroom door locking it. They were standing at the door and they could hear that lock moving.
