Chapter 196
- KATE -
My plane landed. I just finished the whole check out process at the airport and take it from me, as stressful and long as it was, I’d choose it to being back home throughout a family crisis. That was mind boggling. Exhausting too.
I’ve never craved a me time so much in my life. These long few weeks seemed like years and I barely felt like myself throughout the whole phase till Killian got involved. Once again, he was my saviour.
I let out a sigh as I stare at the sky. Who would’ve thought I would miss perceiving the air of this city? Who would’ve thought I’d miss staring at the sky? I take a deep breath, filling my lungs with air on purpose before letting it out through my mouth.
Today will be a good day, I can sense it. I make my way forward, heading to the car park. My private taxi is out there somewhere. The moment I walk out of the hotel building, I sight her in the sea of people waiting at the entrance, my smile widens and I walk up to her. I knew she was the one when my name was printed in bold on a white board in her hand coupled with the fact that I am well accustomed to her face.
“Kate Kabello?” The woman, my taxi driver professionally dressed in a suit, asks and I nod. Well, maybe she’s not accustomed to my face. She immediately takes my luggage trolley from me, pushing it forward instead.
Why, thank you, I say in my mind, following closely behind till she gets to her car. The boot comes open and the taxi driver loads my things in the vehicle from the trolley. I walk to the back seat when she fully unloaded my things then slammed the boot shut.
The car door leading to the back seat is open. I know I didn’t open it but I sit down inside anyway. I let my body get comfortable on the seat. Right now, all I crave is good sleep and good food but I know it’s far fetched right now. I won’t be having much of either since I’d be preparing for exams.
