Chapter 156

“On second thought,” I start, kneading a finger on Hazel’s palm, talking to Owen. “I’d rather we have a discussion later, old friend.” I say, gritting my teeth.
Asami only does what she’s supposed to do? Is he trying to let me know that if something transpired while I was gone, he was involved as well? After all, he murdered two of my men. I let out a suppressed exhale.
I’ll never forgive him for this, even though I want to. He must be held accountable for his actions and I’ll make sure of it.
Owen laughs, majestically as always, a short laugh. “You don’t trust me, I see.” He jests.
“You? I do,” You have some decency. “But her,” I lower my gaze to Asami. “Her I do not.” My eyes fall on Hazel. Plus, Asami’s presence here is making my woman feel uncomfortable, it’ll be unwise to leave just the two of them alone on this table. And only God knows how long our discussion will take.
Owen spreads his arms out, cocking his head to a side as a half smile paints his lips. “If you insist.” He’s being overly calm. I guess that’s a good thing aside from the fact that I’m tempted to punch his fucking brains out and cause a scene but that will only make Hazel more terrified and I that’s the last thing I want.
“Please, excuse me, I need to use the bathroom.” Hazel gushes softly, standing up from her seat. She leaves before I could even say a word. I let my eyes trail her every move, down to when she approached a staff probably to ask for directions, till her form wasn’t in sight anymore.
Now that she’s gone. . . “Did you do anything to her while I was gone, Asami?” I ask, my tone harsh.
Asami chuckles. “You talk to everyone else calmly till it’s me.”
“What can I say, not everyone actually deserves to be treated nicely.”
