MY Masochistic CEO

Chapter 121 standing up for a friend

The company environment was decent; everyone was in uniform. After all, in such intense competition, it was hard to survive without some skills. Big companies focus on reputation, while small companies focus on service—there’s truth in this saying.

As soon as we entered, everyone looked over. Tony said, "Please have a seat, I’ll get you a glass of water."

I nodded, sitting down. Just then, Tony walked over with a glass of water, but before he could set it down, a woman’s voice rang out, "Tony, come here for a moment."

Setting down the water, he said, "I’ll be right there."

Walking over, Ms. White inquired, "What’s happening here? Why are you allowing outsiders into the company and offering them water? Are you aware that this is a waste of the company’s resources? Haven’t you noticed the sign at the company entrance that states ’No entry for competitors’? Why don’t you know?"

Tony’s face turned pale as he struggled to explain. "Ms. White, he’s not an outsider, he’s..."

"Are you talking back to me?"

Ms. White grew angrier, her voice getting louder, and colleagues around started whispering. Some female colleagues covered their mouths, giggling at the scene.

Tony’s treatment in the company is reminiscent of mine in the past. It feels like we’re in the same situation. Since we’re in this together, I have to offer my help.

I gestured to Tony, and upon spotting me, he informed Ms. White, "My friend called me; I’ll head over there first."
