I mused to myself, her least favorite person must be me. I was certain she would summon me soon. The mere thought of witnessing her stern yet sensual demeanor had me eagerly anticipating our encounter.
As expected, about a minute later, Melody approached me. "Jessica wants you to come to her office."
I nodded in acknowledgment and made my way to her office. This time, Melody didn’t tag along.
The colleagues behind me snickered, "He must have been called in for a scolding. I heard his commission on this deal is just forty thousand dollars, that’s rough!"
Upon reaching her office, I knocked on the door. Jessica’s voice echoed from within, "Come in."
I pushed the door open to find Jessica seated behind her desk, the epitome of professionalism. There was no phone on the desk, and her right hand was conspicuously absent from view. The thought of what her hand might be doing sent my heart racing.
