MY Masochistic CEO

Chapter 29 risky games

Her ’better terms,’ I mused, were nothing more than a veiled attempt to steal the credit. Was she feeling threatened by the prospect of my promotion to manager, as suggested by the vice president?

Miss Camille had assured me earlier that should any issues arise, she would provide the utmost support. No matter how significant a department manager’s authority might be, could it ever surpass that of a vice president?

"We’ll see when the time comes," I replied, neither accepting nor rejecting her proposal, choosing instead to leave it hanging.

Upon my return to the marketing department, I was met with Mia’s reproachful gaze.

I had completely forgotten about her!

I slunk back to my seat, my face flushed with embarrassment. Retrieving my phone, I was met with a barrage of her messages.

Mia: [William, have you arrived?]

Mia: [William, if you don’t show up, I’m leaving.]

Mia: [William, you stood me up, I’ll remember this. (Angry)]

Wiping the sweat from my brow, I decided to deal with Mia later. The immediate priority was to connect with the vice president on online!
