Chapter 24
Mia’s voice echoed from the left. I turned towards the sound and saw her waving at me.
I approached her, only to find a secluded corner, shielded from the sun and hidden behind a wall of humming air conditioning units.
"Didn’t you mention bringing lunch?" I asked, noticing her empty hands.
"Come over here!" Mia beckoned, her voice dripping with seduction. "Are you scared I might eat you?"
I chuckled in response. "You’re the one known for eating people."
She pulled out her phone. "Relax, I’m not recording anything. I don’t have any hidden cameras or recording devices on me."
Despite her reassurances, I remained skeptical. She stomped her foot in frustration. "Fine, if you don’t trust me, come and check for yourself. If that’s not enough, you can record a video. That should suffice, right?"
"Alright, but remember, you suggested it."
I swiftly retrieved my phone and opened the camera app, feeling a sense of security wash over me.
