He’s actually here?!
Xia Wan’an stared at Han Jingnian in shock for a few seconds before looking away and glancing out the window.
The car was parked some distance away from the streetlights, making the interior quite dim. He was wearing a black suit which blended with the darkness, and had it not been for the glow from his laptop, one might not have noticed there was someone sitting in the back seat. For such a busy man, wouldn’t it have been enough to send his assistant Zhang Te to run errands instead of going in person?
Since she had entered the car, Han Jingnian hadn’t shown much reaction. He seemed to treat her as if she were just a part of the air, but his unspoken pressure made Xia Wan’an feel as if the air in the car was thinning.
Feeling uncomfortable, she shifted towards the car door, increasing the distance between them slightly.
Perhaps her movement startled him, because she felt him tilt his head towards her.
His subtle action made Xia Wan’an reflexively look his way.
Just a brief eye-contact was enough for her eyes to scatter in surprise.
He was quiet, clearly not intending to start a conversation. However, this left her in a dilemma... Should she greet him?
