Su Ningxiu looked at Gu Ya with eyes full of anticipation.
They were sparkling with excitement.
Gu Ya was momentarily stunned. His gaze had been fixed on his young wife the entire time, and his concern was solely for her. He had stayed up all night with her as Su Yunjin endured childbirth, and Gu Ya too had not slept a wink. Afterward, when his young wife had fainted after giving birth, Gu Ya’s handsome face turned pale with fright. Gu Ya knew that Aunt Liang and the others meant well, but he couldn’t bring himself to sleep. Not until he saw his young wife awake would he be truly at ease.
"Aunt Liang, Aunt Bao, we owe it to the three of you for taking care of my wife during childbirth. You’ve all worked hard throughout the night. One of you please stay to watch over the child, and the rest should go and rest," Gu Ya told Aunt Bao and the others to leave.
Aunt An asked, "Young Master, wouldn’t you like to see the children? Both babies born by the mistress are exceptionally beautiful. We’ve never seen such lovely children before!" Aunt An expressed her joy with a beaming face.
Gu Ya glanced at his young wife lying in front of him, pale and weak from childbirth, and thought about how much she had suffered for those two children.
How could Gu Ya have any desire to see the children now? All he wanted was to stay by his young wife’s side. "Aunt An, please take care of the two children. The mistress is resting; let’s not disturb her by bringing them over," Gu Ya said.
Thus, Gu Ya sent Aunt An and the others away. He hadn’t taken a close look at either child, and as for their genders, Gu Ya only knew from Aunt Bao that the first child was a boy.
