Considering the day’s work, the catch was quite substantial, so the women decided not to continue fishing in the river. Instead, they prepared to go ashore to take their younger brother and sister home to cook.
Their parents and elder brother had gone out to sea to fish and would be back for lunch, so she needed to have the meal ready before their return.

there was no need for her to pretend to be virtuous in front of her parents. She glared at the girl irritably, "Drink what? What share of my fish do you have? Behave yourself at noon and just eat your pickled vegetable soup. If you dare touch my fish soup, I’ll skin you alive!" she threatened fiercely.
