Wang Meng replied, “Brother Gu, Sister-in-law, why be so formal? I only happened to pass by and lent a hand yesterday. Besides, those scoundrels who dared to attack your shop deserved a good lesson. After we gave them what for, they surely won’t dare trouble you and the sister-in-law again.”
After thanking Wang Meng for his help, Su Yunjin and Gu Ya did not plan to stay for dinner. They sat for a while at Wang Meng’s house before leaving.
On the way home, Su Yunjin said to Gu Ya with a smile, “Husband, Brother Wang’s house is quite well repaired, and it’s located in Gu Family Village. If my elder sister really does marry Brother Wang, our two families will live close to each other, and we can visit each other more often.”
